Quick Tools, disappears when using API

Hi

I’ve experienced that the quick tools menu sometimes disappears, when opening a model using the FEM-Design API.

When looking at the top menu, the everything seems in order, but the quick tools is a no-show.
Have you experienced this before?

I have experience this as well but I haven’t realised that it is due to the API.
I will try to replicate the “bug” but it seems pretty random. Let me know if you can reproduce it

My experience is also that it happens at random - It might be a program inside FD itself.

I’ll let you know if I find a pattern!

Not sure if it’s related, but there’s a bug in FD24 (release 002 and 001, I believe) where the Quick Tools panel decide to not reappear after having been closed down. Not even after restarting the program, so it doesn’t sound exactly what’s described here. If it is, here’s a temporary fix:

  1. Close FEM-Design
  2. Open File explorer (Win+E)
  3. Go to Appdata by entering %appdata% and press Enter in the path field.
  4. Go to StruSoft > FEM-Design 24 and delete the folder FEMData.

Now all settings are reset to default when you restart FEM-Design and the Quick tools panel with your results menu should appear.

Hello again

Thanks for the input Joakim, I do however still experience that the QT goes missing.
However, I’ve now also seen it occur w/o the use of the API.. so i guess it’s a problem within FD itself and not the API.
