Cannot perform analysis due to stiffness error

Good morning,

I am having trouble understanding what this error means ‘there are no stiffness points to calculate’.
I the model that i have created in GH, i have defined supports and motions, which are visible in FEM-design. I figured the issue is related to this, but please correct me if i am wrong.

Best regards,

Rasmus

Hi @RSBNO

I have never seen this error message before. Can you please share with me your grasshopper or struxml file?

You can send me the file privately if the information are sensitive.

Are you using stiffness point in your model?

Hi i am having issue sharing the struxml file for whatever reason. But i hope that you can navigate in the .GH file. I have internalized the external excel file, so it should be readable without any reference.

I have not used any stiffness points.

Hey @RSBNO

I have not seen this error before as well, and just out of curiosity I have tried your script.

However, I get no issues in creating and running the analysis (for the model created by your script):

ModelWorking.zip (540.7 KB)

Are you using an older version of FEM Design?

@RSBNO

I confirm what @AndreiM has said. I am running the script with the latest version of FEM-Design and no errors appear.

Can you let us know which version of FEM-Design you are using?

I was running the script in version 24. However, it is a student version - I wonder if this has an effect.

I have tried to reinstall the the software. But ran into some license related issues - I will let you know if it works once I solve those.

Thank you for testing the script.

Best regards,

Rasmus

So this morning I had a chance to test in version 24.00.005 (student version). However, I am still getting the same error. I have uninstalled version …004 and installed the newer. Can you describe how you perform the analysis, when testing my script?

Ehi @RSBNO

Which analysis are you trying to run right now? In general, running the analysis only require to click “OK” in the calculations windows.

If you still get the error, can you send the .struxml file? I will share it internally and double check if the Student version is the issue.
